Le Jardin Ocre
Five hectares opened in 2025 to the south-west of the city, more family park than contemplative garden: aviary, farm animals, ponies and climbing wall as much as rose garden and organic vegetable plot. For a half-day with children, it holds up; for an auteur garden like Majorelle or Anima, this is not the same register.
History & context
Le Jardin Ocre opened its five hectares south-west of Marrakech on 1 October 2025, on the Royal Palm estate, on the Amizmiz road. It holds 38,000 plants across more than 250 species, a 6,000 m² organic vegetable plot and a rose garden of 2,300 rose bushes.
The project openly claims a vocation as educational as botanical: an aviary of 200 birds, a farm-animal park (goats, sheep, ponies, ostriches, rabbits, hens), a digital space with touchscreens and augmented reality, a climbing wall, play areas and an interactive fountain. A restaurant on site serves seasonal cooking drawn from the vegetable plot.
It is therefore less a contemplative garden than a family nature park, built for a half-day with children.
Botany here doubles as a children’s park: you come as much for the rose garden as for the ponies.
