THE CORE Marrakech Medina
The walled UNESCO-listed core: souks, hidden riads, artisans' fondouks and Jemaa el-Fna at the centre. You get lost - that is the point. Stay at least one night to feel it empty out, then light up again in the evening.

The walled UNESCO-listed core: souks, hidden riads, artisans' fondouks and Jemaa el-Fna at the centre. You get lost - that is the point. Stay at least one night to feel it empty out, then light up again in the evening.
NEW TOWN Guéliz
Modern Marrakech, north-west of the medina: Art deco avenues, galleries, café terraces, and two names known well beyond Morocco - the Jardin Majorelle and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.
HOTELS & QUIET Hivernage
The district of the grand hotels and gardens, between the medina and Guéliz: 5-star palaces, spas and pools, and Marrakech's nightlife once the sun goes down.
ROYAL & HISTORIC Kasbah
The royal district south of the medina: Bab Agnaou, El Badi palace, the Saadian Tombs and the green minaret of the Kasbah mosque, apart from the souks.
OASIS & RESORTS Palm Grove (Palmeraie)
The palm oasis north of Marrakech: 13,000 hectares planted since the 11<sup>th</sup> century, now the ground of resorts, golf and camel rides.
DESIGN & STUDIOS Sidi Ghanem
The designers' zone, north of the city: design showrooms, concept stores and studios, away from the souks. Contemporary 'made in Marrakech'.
FORMER JEWISH QUARTER The Mellah
The Jewish quarter of Marrakech, long left off the tours, is finding its colour again: spices, ironmongers and a working synagogue.
