Edinburgh is one of two Scottish airports with a direct route to Marrakech: two low-cost carriers, tight schedules and a flight time a hair over four hours. From the east of Scotland, direct beats a change at Gatwick or Manchester on total door-to-door time.
Airlines and departure airport
Direct flights leave from Edinburgh Airport (EDI). Two airlines run the direct route:
- easyJet - year-round, though frequencies dip in winter.
- Ryanair UK - typically two to three flights a week in high season, less in shoulder seasons.
For a one-stop option, British Airways via Heathrow and Royal Air Maroc via Casablanca both work, but rarely beat easyJet direct on total time or price.
Flight time
Reckon on 4 hrs 05 to 4 hrs 15 direct, about 40 minutes longer than from London. Departures are usually in the morning or early afternoon; check the schedule as it thins in winter.
Prices and best time to book
Shoulder-season low-cost returns run £110 to £220, easyJet and Ryanair UK trading depending on the week. Peaks land at £250-£400 during February half-term, summer school holidays and October half-term, and £300-£450 over Easter and Christmas. Book two to three months ahead for peak windows.

Once you land
Marrakech-Menara Airport is about 5 km (3 miles) south-west of the medina, 15 to 25 minutes by taxi. Bus 19 runs to Jemaa el-Fna for 30 MAD every 30 minutes, the official taxi flat fare is 70-100 MAD (£6-£8) in daytime, and many riads offer a private transfer.
