Our verdict
Few three-star hotels in Marrakech offer a rooftop pool, a bar with an Atlas view, a spa and a hammam. The Fashion Boutique is one of them, and that is enough to explain its scores. On avenue Hassan II, the house stacks up facilities its rating does not promise, and travellers repay it with high scores, on a meaningful review count.
The core of the house is on the roof. A pool follows the corner of the building, four-poster beds and sun loungers watch the ochre terraces of Guéliz and, on clear days, the white line of the Atlas. A bar follows the movement. Below, the thirty-five rooms justify the “fashion” word: contemporary decor, fluted wood, round cornices, textured walls and colour touches, in a fashion vein rather than folklore. Far from the zellige riad, and that is an owned choice.
The location has two sides. The great avenue puts the station five minutes on foot, the tram at the door and the Yves Saint Laurent museum two kilometres away. It is the liveliest axis of the new town. It is also a busy road, with traffic at the foot of the building. Other reservations belong to the rating: rooms are more compact than in a 4-star, the rate still lines up with those, and Wi-Fi stays the only point reviews rate lower. On thirty-five rooms, finally, the roof fills up fast in fine weather.
What brings travellers back is the roof and the service. Staff pick up one of the best scores in town, and the rooftop pool alone is worth a share of the stay. For two, for a rooftop, a spa and a real welcome on the Guéliz avenue without paying palace prices, the Fashion Boutique holds more than its three stars promise.
