Buggy in the Agafay Desert
The quad in car form: two-seater, faster, more comfortable, thrills shared. In Agafay, the buggy is almost always the highlight of a full evening. Two honest caveats: you need the licence to drive, and real steering-wheel time (~1 hr) is shorter than the '2 hrs' shown.
In Agafay, the star machine is not the quad but the buggy: an off-road two-seater, steering wheel and belt, and you can also go along as a passenger. Head to the Agafay stone desert, about forty minutes from Marrakech, where the buggy has its playground.
Usually it is not alone on the schedule. In Agafay, the buggy is the highlight of a half-day or a full evening, with dinner under canvas, music and fire show, sometimes a pool or a short camel ride. At the wheel, reckon on a small hour of real driving. The ‘2 hrs’ often shown includes the briefing and the breaks.
Two honest points. First, the rule that changes everything against the quad: driving a buggy needs the licence and 18 years (younger passengers ride along). The quad is hired without a licence. Second, the price: many offers show ‘-50%’ on inflated struck-through prices. The real fare runs about £42 to £64 depending on the format. Compare before you book. And like the quad, dust comes with the scenery.
To drive solo, without a licence and cheaper, there is the quad. To take Agafay differently, the pool day or the camel at sunset.
