Our verdict
Oasis Lodges is not a Marrakech hotel in the classic sense, it is an estate joined to a water park. You reach it in about ten minutes on the Amizmiz road, south of the city, where the housing tracts give way to gardens and olive groves. No souk or lane at the door: twenty-three pisé lodges spread across a broad planted plot, each with its garden and its terrace, from the one-bedroom house up to the three-bedroom one. The architecture plays raw earth, rounded arches and patios rather than decor. It is an owned stance, turned to families: you come to settle in for several days, not sleep one night before slipping into town.
The real strength is the Oasiria park, next door and included for guests: about ten hectares of basins, slides and a lazy river, free and unlimited access during the stay. That is what sets the address apart from the other Marrakech-belt resorts, and the reason you book it with children. The mini-club supervises the youngest by age group, between watched swims, water games and treasure hunts, while parents enjoy the heated pool, the hammam or the massages. The estate side shows in the services: on-site catering, cookery classes, yoga sessions, room service. Travellers back it widely, with 9.0 on Booking on nearly 450 reviews and high scores for cleanliness and welcome. For the family profile, the address plays in the same court as other hotels built around a water park.
That leaves the distance, which decides everything. At 10-15 minutes from Jemaa el-Fna by taxi, you do not slip down for a medina round between two swims: each outing to town has to be planned and paid. For a short stay built around monuments and souks, this is a bad pick. For a family holiday where the park makes the programme, it is a good one. The other limit is that of every resort format: catering stays fair no more, and the atmosphere depends on the occupancy and the season, livelier in high summer than at winter’s low. Value for money is the lowest score travellers leave. From around £136 a night depending on the season, you pay first for a water park and space for children, not a city-centre address.
