The Rose Aqua Park is not visited for its location, but for its water. Set on avenue Mohammed VI, at the southern edge of Hivernage, the resort lines up 308 rooms around broad gardens, palms and a water park that takes the core of the estate. The architecture plays ochre pink and arcades, without looking for the character of a riad: you are in the class of large club hotels, built for a family to spend the week without stepping out. The avenue puts the airport ten minutes by car, but the medina, itself, is earned by taxi in spite of the twenty minutes on foot advertised on booking sites.

The water park is the real reason to come. Seven slides, from tall coloured spirals to ring runs, drop into large basins, doubled by a water play area for the youngest and two pools heated in winter. Around, animation follows the club format: evening entertainment, games room, kids’ pitch, plus a balneotherapy spa with hammam, sauna and jacuzzi for the parents. The all-inclusive closes the whole - meals, drinks and evenings included, in three themed restaurants Moroccan, international and light. For a stay where the children count as much as you do, other family-focused addresses play the same card, but few gather a park of this size.

That leaves what this 7.5 score on Booking is worth, honest no more. Location (8.8) and staff are praised. Value for money (7.3) closes the ranking, and that is where the caveats concentrate. Recent travellers flag a repetitive and thin buffet, ageing furniture and rooms, and a few disputes at check-out over end-of-stay fees. Nothing dealbreaking, but you come here knowingly: for the slides, the space and the all-inclusive, not for refinement or closeness to Jemaa el-Fna. From around £60 a night depending on the season, this is one of the most accessible family resorts in town, and it lands right for anyone wanting exactly that - a children’s holiday, feet in the water, on a controlled budget.
